Accomplishment

 One day when I was in 5th grade a got an A+ on a very important test.  I was very proud of myself and so were my parents and my teacher.  My neighbors and my brother and sister were also proud. I got a lot of awards just for that one A+.  All of my friends wished they had got an A just like I did but I just told them to try harder. I got a lot of stuff for making that A+. It was the best day of my life. I couldn’t believe I got an A+ on my test. I felt like the smartest kid in the world. I felt like there was no way someone else was smarter than me.  The reason why I like this memory is because right now I don’t usually get A’s on my tests.

Mom’s Poem

Hands have arthritis

Doing a lot of paper work

Likes to be organized

Wears simple dresses

Talks about playing softball when she was a young

She has a calm face remembering her younger days

I love how nice she is to me

Love,

Osceola Bendolph

Happy Mothers Day

            Chad Johnson is 6′1, 192 pounds and is #85wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengal’s and he is my role model because of a lot of things.  He is around 28 years old and he is best wide receiver in the NFL.  There is no better wide receiver than him.  He even says so him self.  That’s one of the reasons he is my role model.  When he plays football it looks like he stole my skills.  Except for when he drops a pass.  I don’t drop passes.

            I found out about Chad Johnson on a video game.  I didn’t know who he was at that time but then he got popular and when they started making more NFL games like NFL Street and Madden games he was really good on it and every time I play those games I pick him because of how good he is.

            Before I knew about Chad Johnson I had a very hard time thinking about a position I should practice on while I wait for the NFL.  Chad Johnson is a very good wide receiver and that is what influenced me to stop dropping passes and be a wide receiver.  One day I will either be good as him or better than him or become the best wide receiver that ever played in the NFL.

            The good thing about Chad Johnson is that he is not boring.  He thinks he’s the best and I know he is plus he likes to dance and joke around.  I remember when he tried to dance after he caught a long pass at the Pro Bowl but he couldn’t because of his knee injury from the beginning of the game.  One time he got fined for pretending to play golf with the football.  The next game he brought a sing with him that said:  Dear NFL….. Please don’t fine me again.  I think that’s what happened.

            I will always remember Chad Johnson as the best wide receiver in the NFL if he keeps up the good work.  If he doesn’t I will either have to call him and pay him to play better or find a better wide receiver for my role model. Someone like Calvin Johnson and no he is not Chad Johnson’s son.

John Milton

John Milton

John Milton is famous for

The poems he wrote.

One day he was put in jail

For what he believed in.

He had 3 wives and 4 children

He once wrote a 10 booked poem

Called Paradise Lost.

He believed in freedom of speech

And he fought with his teacher.

He always wanted to be himself;

He didn’t want to be like everyone else.

People thought he was better than Shakespeare.

He also lost his eye sight

But he still liked to travel

And so does his legacy.

Sonnet 18

SONNET 18
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

Apprectiation

 I appreciate Chad Johnson for being Chad Johnson.  He is a really good role model and he is almost everything that I am when it comes to football.

            If you play football and you are a wide receiver, you should find out about Chad Johnson and see if you can’t appreciate him.  It’s really hard not too.

JRR Tolkien

JRR Tolkien: The Best Fantasy Author of All

      JRR Tolkien was born 1892 and he died in 1973. He was one of the most famous authors because of all the books that he wrote and what they were about.

      His ancestors were artisans and his family owned a business. His dad died when he was three. Before his dad died, his mom took him and his younger brother to England from his old home in South Africa. When Tolkien was 12, his mom died and a priest adopted him. After his mom died, he got more into drawing, writing, and exploring and he thought about his mother a lot. One day while drawing in the garden he got bit by a baboon spider and that affected him later on in life. He had to see a very special doctor and the doctor healed him right away. The doctor reminded him of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings and that is how Gandalf was created.

      When he was 19, he and his friends made a society that involved tea and coffee. One day while in this club he met a young woman named Edith that was 3 years older than he was and they wanted to get married but the priest told Tolkien that he could not get married until he was 21 so he waited. In between that time, he joined the British army to fight in the war but then he got sick and he was sent home. When he was sent home, he was old enough to get married to Edith and they did but before that, he wrote a book called The Book of the Lost Tales.

 In his older years, he wrote The Hobbit in 1937 for his kids and other kids. But then it got really popular. The Hobbit got so popular that it earned a couple awards. He didn’t think it would get that popular but since it did he wanted to continue the series of The Hobbit. In order to do that he created a series of books called The Lord of the Rings and that was even more popular but it was also more violent. Tolkien and Edith had four kids and Tolkien enjoyed spending time with them. As he went on in his years he was influence by lots of authors that he knew and he wrote a lot more books.

     His wife died in 1972, and he died a year after that and his kids had to take care of his books for him. His popularity grew a lot, and he received many awards after his death and he became really even more popular even though he was not alive.

The Best of Mariner

Posted on June 11th, 2007 in Essays by osceola2011

 Mariner is an okay school.  The best of Mariner is sleeping and my friends.  If you try your very best in the 8th grade you will do very good in the academic part of the school but it will be very boring if you leave out the sleeping part but don’t unless you want to have bad grades.  The good thing about sleeping is that it is very peaceful. No annoying people or teachers to talk to you and you could think and sleep all you want. Mariner is an okay school.

Book Review

The Chronicles of Narnia

          This story is about four young siblings and their adventure to the land of Narnia. The oldest boy was???????. The second oldest boy and the third oldest in the family was named Edwin. The oldest girl was the second oldest in the family was Lucie. The youngest in the family was Susan. The story begins with World War 2 and the family has to move to a different country for their safety. Then they moved to a safer home with a nice old man and they become bored so they play hide and seek. Then Susan finds a wardrobe and decides to hide in it and that’s when she finds Narnia. In Narnia she finds a very strange creature and spends some time with it and then she heads back home to the wardrobe.

          When Susan gets back she tells everybody where she was but no one believes her. Edwin was curious so he tried to go in the wardrobe and he did. While he was in there he met the evil witch of Narnia but didn’t know that she was evil yet. When Edwin came back he told everybody that he had been there. Then Lucie and her older brother joined Edwin and Susan to go to Narnia. Edwin got lost and the rest of the family had to try to find him. All of this trouble ends up to a war.

          I think this book was okay. This story is not a touching story. There were no similarities in the book that I could compare to my life except for the annoying family part. I don’t have a favorite book this year. This summer I might not read at all.

Washington DC

Posted on June 11th, 2007 in Essays by osceola2011

The Washington DC trip wasn’t fun at all.  It was kind of boring.  All we did was walk most of the time and it got me tired of the whole trip.  I barely got any time to eat because no one told me that it was time to eat.  The best part of the trip was the bus rides. I loved the bus rides because I slept threw most of it and it was kind of peaceful.  I wasn’t paying attention to anything that we were supposed to be looking at and that was peaceful too.
